On June 21, 54-year-old Umesh Kolhe was attacked with a knife by a group of three men in Amravati allegedly for social media posts supporting former BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
The Mumbai police has sought the cancellation of Rana couple’s bail on the ground that they had allegedly violated one of the conditions imposed by the special court while granting them bail last week.
Their visit to Delhi comes a day after it emerged that the Maharashtra government is likely to challenge the bail of Lok Sabha MP from Amravati Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana on Monday.
Maharashtra’s MP-MLA couple, who was arrested on April 23 by the Mumbai police, was booked under various provisions of the IPC, including charges of sedition and promoting enmity.
Police are collecting all the videos and press conference footage of the couple for analysis, Mumbai Police told ANI.
The Rana couple had on Friday (April 22) said that they were firm on their plan to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside ‘Matoshree’, the personal residence of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Bandra at 9 am on Saturday (April 23), as per PTI.
